Through gathering fragments of intimate family histories consisting of photographs, oral stories, and my imagination --Layered Histories weaves together family portraits, unraveling and learning about my maternal grandmother's migration experience from St. Vincent and the Grenadines to America. Each tapestry critiques the perception of an immigrant's success and asks if life in America is better.
